We spent only what we could afford, the children enjoyed what they received, and the mon this leading up to Christmas were simpler for me because I wasn't trying to find and purchase twenty "perfect" gifts. Sometimes I life that part, but this year with the baby it just wasn't going to happen, and the extra peacefulness was nice. :)

K, I'm done talking now. :)Emily (Laundry and Lullabies)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16367630628716619991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4006833743714206736.post-21349282486850639122012-12-27T10:30:36.496-08:002012-12-27T10:30:36.496-08:00It sounds like a lovely day, Amber! You seem to have found a good balance - less without nothing, combined with great thoughtfulness and intention for the day.

I went back to your first post and read Sarah's comments, which were also thought provoking. We too are concerned about keeping the focus on Christ and on giving to others, as well as keeping the level of stuff down in our house!

In the past, we have only given each child one gift, knowing that other family members would be giving quite a bit. This year, being tight in the budget and knowing that most of the family who used to give big gifts were also tight, we chose to go with the three gifts (like the wisemen) for the kids, nothing for each other, and homemade gifts for other family and friends.Emily (Laundry and Lullabies)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16367630628716619991noreply@blogger.com
